This vessel was originally built to carry troops and equipment during the Vietnam War. The LCM-8 stands for Landing Craft Mechanized Mark 8 and this model was specially made of aluminum for a shallow draft.
Could be used for freight or construction equipment hauling with 45'x17' of deck space and 44 total net tons there is lots of room.
It is powered by twin 1990 Lugger 6140AL which are a marinized Komatsu six-cylinder engine that has a reputation for durability due to its low rpm (less than 2500 WOT) and size versus horsepower (15L for 600hp)
